News Release  Flyer  Homecoming Photo

It’s rare these days to be involved in a the story of extraordinary survival and human compassion.  Yet, this past week we have seen people come together and work hard to save the life of a rescued dog who was lost in the snow storm, and we are all the better for it!

Please read the above media release about Amy, a rescued Golden Retriever/Labrador Retriever mix, who spent 7 months in a cage too small for her and was only freed when she was too large to lay down in it or stand up.  She was brought to Wescott Acres Pet Rescue by a kind person.  Amy was very shy and under socialized.  Over the months at Wescott Acres, she became healthier both physically and emotionally.  Last Saturday, Amy went to stay with a wonderful family in Red Bank who is fostering another shy dog for our rescue group.  However, when the snow was falling on Sunday night, Amy’s handler slipped and dropped her leash, frightening Amy. She fled, dragging her leash.

It is such a blessing that so many volunteers for Wescott Acres Pet Rescue came to Red Bank to call for her, post hundreds of flyers, make and post more than 100 signs on busy roads, and walk the streets and woods calling for Amy until they lost their voices! Most importantly, people sent their prayers forward for Amy for her survival.

All prayers were answered when Amy was followed onto Church steps, exhausted, and finally allowed kind people to read her tags and call us – after 4 days and nights in this terrible weather.

Amy is at HOME at Wescott Acres Luxury Pet Resort and our family where she will spend the rest of her life.  She is comfortable here, and very loved!  Amy will never have to feel insecure, by cold or hungry again in her life!

Come visit Amy at Wescott Acres!  She will be in the lobby to greet you each morning!  She will roam free  on our 8 acres and in our lobby – anywhere she wants to go! And, she will be pampered in our home!

Thank you to EVERYONE who put their life on hold to help save Amy’s life!  We are overwhelmed with the kindness of so many people who reached out to help this precious baby girl!
