Bud

It's been almost 3 months now since we came to meet Bud at Wescott Acres. 

Bud (now named Bo) has been a wonderful addition to our family. He loves  playing in the yard with Mooney. He has so much energy and is so  affectionate.  He sleeps beside our bed with Mooney and is eager to do  what we want.  Thank you for your good work.

I'm very happy with my dad Connor.

Things here are very nice.  I like my doctor, riding in the car and hanging out with my dad.

I think I have everything figured out here and life is good.  We go visit Connor's cousin  often and she has a BIG Lab named Cooper. We play for hours.

Check out our sweet boy Hank, all snuggled into this very own bed in his new home. His parents drove from Atlanta to adopt him and they loved him instantly. He's now living the good life and will never again be a stray, hungry boy.

We are happy, elated, pleased, excited (can't find enough adjectives) to have Brodie with us.  He is the sweetest puppy, well trained and I can't believe anyone could give him up - but am happy they did and that we were blessed to get him. 

We already love him so much.  He's already met a bunch of his new puppy friends and they're getting along beautifully.  Thank you and everyone connected with Wescott Rescue for giving us our "forever puppy".    

I just wanted to let Amy and her mom know that Sparky is doing wonderful. We are so lucky to have found a special dog like him. I would really like to thank Amy and her mom for doing such a wonderful job being foster parents to him. I'm sure that made all the difference in his life. I think he missed his sister and friends the first few days but seems to be adjusted well. He is just perfect! Hopefully his sister Lady will find a great home, so sorry I couldn't take her.

Tuffy was adopted into a wonderful home. Her new family took her shopping to select her Halloween outfit and some toys. She looks quite adorable in her hat with green wig, don't you think? Tuffy is very loved and will have a great life with her new family.

Here is Simon with his new brother Clayton.   They are best buddies now. I've never seen two cats play the way they do...pretty much non-stop. Simon was a great addition to our home! Thank you Wescott Rescue for saving him.

Balcore is about 40 pounds now and just a bundle full of snuggles.  He loves to snuggle his muzzle up under our necks!  He also loves to play fetch.  He has begun to bring us his ball when he wants to play! We cannot believe how smart he is!!!  He also loves to play hide and seek with the kids.  The kids hide and Balcore and Buster will find them. (Balcore is on the left in photo)

I just wanted to thank you for the wonderful work you do there.  We are so grateful you rescued Pixie (now changing to Macie) so that she can become a part of our family!  We are blown away with how perfect she is for us- kind, calm, and incredibly quick to learn.  This photo was taken on her first night with us at 'family movie night'. Thank you! 

This is just a quick update about Mack, the black lab we adopted a few weeks ago.  He is doing great, and is being socialized 3 - 4 times a week.

He is a bundle of energy and love.  He loves to sleep in bed and snooze on the couch.  He has done great in the house.  He loves to go out and run in the yard w/ my other dog Brutis, and LOVES to ride in the truck.  I have attached a photo of Mack and Brutus from this past Saturday from the festival.  Thank you all again for allowing us to add another part to our family.

As promised here are some photos of Coco in her new home. I hope you don't mind but I gave her a different name, Molly, and she responded to it very well.  Things are going very well. Molly is extremely well adapted to the home and still shows the same amount of love and affection as the day we met.

 Lucy Liu [formerly Lulu] - return to top

Lulu, now named, Lucy Liu, is a joy to our family. She has taken over the couch, my bed, which she kicks me out of and likes to sleep in my spot on my pillow with covers on top of her. She also needs a breathing machine (my husband has one) since she snores like a freight train. Even though she is the baby of the family she is clearly the Queen. We love her. Thanks for letting us take her into our family.

Bob Marley [formerly Joey] - return to top

Joey is now named Bob Marley and I can't tell you how wonderful he has been! He gets along with everyone, human and animal. We take him in the car, and he loves it. He has been to the river and loves jumping from
rock to rock. We took him to the beach this weekend and he loved playing with other dogs (although he is a little timid of the water). He does great going to friends houses and is perfect around kids. People comment on what a pretty dog he is! I wanted to let you know how happy I am with him! Thank you for taking the time to help me pick my perfect companion. I also want to say, I really think what you all are doing to help homeless pets is priceless. Thanks again

Pretty Girl found a wonderful home. She has a Husky brother named Rocky and they play for hours. What a lucky girl to have been a hungry stray and is now sleeping in a big king size bed and being spoiled rotten! Happy ending!

Update on Olivia from the Hall family:

Olivia is doing great, she has learned so much. We are still working with her to walk nicely on the leash, but she is coming along. She will be going to the Family Manners class in February. She and Cypress love to play together, their favorite game is Bite the Face.

Just wanted to let you know Louie is doing fine with Bentley. They love wrestling with each other in the yard and lay together on the couch as we watch TV. I think Louie's personality is really going to help Bentley get over some of his timidness. Louie is such a happy dog and just wants to by your side 24-7.

Bentley is scared of my digital camera, but I was able to snap one picture of him wrestling with Louie.

Fetsa is doing very well and fits in nicely with our family. My husband has renamed her Midnight. Here are some pictures of her. The other Kitten with her is Amiee, who was also adopted from Wescott. Thank you for taking such good care of her and giving her a great start.

Charlie [formerly Linus] - return to top

Since it has been almost a year I thought I would give you an update on Charlie. He is the funniest dog EVER! He loves to go running with me.

He knows sit, shake, out, leave it, lie down, off, calm, stay...

He loves to play catch and tug-of-war with his brother Cooper. He likes to give hugs by standing up and putting both paws on my shoulders while pressing his head to mine. He is super sweet and loves to snuggle and play! Have a Merry Christmas!

I wanted to send a couple of pictures of her and send our thanks to you and Wescott Pet Rescue.  She has been the greatest addition to our family and we truly can't imagine not having her with us.  We considered her to be the best present we could've gotten this year and so thankful that my trip to Petsmart that day in September with my daughter was timed perfectly and gave us the opportunity to bring her into our family.   We want to thank Wescott Pet Rescue for all you do to find homes for so many pets in need.

Just wanted to wish you all a wonderful holiday season and send some new pics of "The Golden Girl". Goldie is adjusting well to her home in Florida and as you can see she leads the "Good Life"! She is such a joy and great pet. I only pray that all the others find loving homes like Goldie did!

Casper [formerly Luke] - return to top

Casper, now named Luke, found a wonderful family in CT. He's a lucky boy!  Here's an update from the happy family:

Luke weighs 65 lbs now and is 8 months old, almost 9. It's hard to believe we have had him 4 months already. He seems to like the water more and more  each time we walk him at the pond. There is a great walking trail where a lot of people bring their dogs to play and swim.

Luke loves it there. A lot of people comment on how pretty he is and then they always ask, "what kind of dog is he?".

He loves the whole family, but pretty much is stuck to my hip. He is very loyal. It was hard to get his picture. Each time we got the camera out, he would come over to sniff or lick the lens!

Callie waited almost a full year for someone to notice how special she is and take her home. The happy day finally came and now she's got a wonderful home. She loves her new feline siblings and being in a real home is a dream come true. Proud new daddy sent us this photo of Callie on her favorite perch in her new home.

Just wanted to let you know what a love bug Emmie is. She is always on someone's lap, curled up beside us or just lapping your face.

Emmie is also learning how to play - sadly she didn't know how to chase a ball, pull on a sock, or anything else that puppies learn. But she does know when it is time to eat and sleep! We adore her. Thank you so much for all you do.

Snowy is doing great. I believe that she is house trained because she has behaved herself well while my husband and I are working. She enjoys her morning walks with my husband before he goes to work and our "together" walks after dinner. Sunday we took her to the lake to meet the rest of her family and they got along very well and had so much fun.  I am including pictures of her first bath with us. She seems very happy and we are happy to have her!   

Einstien (formerly Benji) - return to top

Thought you might like to know that Einstien (formerly Benji) is doing really well and is happy in his new home.  He has made friends with everyone in the family, especially our grandaughter, and with some of our neighbors and their kids. He warms up to women much more easily then men and with kids in no time at all.

Miracle - return to top

Miracle came to Wescott Acres Pet Rescue with a horrible burn down her back where someone had poured hot oil or acid on this innocent girl. She never once held a grudge against people. She's always been sweet and loving. Lucky for her, a wonderful couple came along and gave her a great home. They just sent us this photo, saying they've renamed her Athen Milan and she's so precious to them. See the photo of her as she carries her favorite toy, her moosie, piggy back style.  What a happy ending!
 

Zippy [now named Tinker] - return to top

Zippy is now named Tinker. He is so sweet and smart. He sleeps in the bed with me every night. He sleeps under the covers, but sometimes, he sticks his head out like me. The other dogs and cats have accepted him. He is just so sweet that nobody can be jealous. I really got a wonderful boy! Thanks for all you do!

Girl [now named Gracie] - return to top

Girl was adopted by a family in Maine who loves the Chesapeake breed. She is one happy pup now!! Life is great. Here's Girl, now named Gracie, running in the front pasture with her new friend Percy. They are having a great time!

Noie [now named Karo] - return to top

Noie is now named Karo. She was adopted by a wonderful lady in Virginia who has given Karo the home of her dreams. Here is a small portion of a wonderful update we've received:

While she is without a doubt my little shadow (which is truly apparently when I have to leave and she can't come with me) I think Karo's "best friend" on the block is my next door neighbor's dog Cody.  Cody is a Golden Retriever with a wonderful disposition.  They play together frequently in my backyard.  At 10, Cody can't quite keep up with Karo's pace, but he is a wise fellow and not only lets her know when he's had enough, but also has a trick or two up his paw.  When he gets the tennis ball, but has had enough, he lays on top of it to keep it from her.  I think they are great for each other and my neighbor agrees.  That said, I am amazed at how well Karo entertains herself with her toys, pouncing and flipping the ball like a catch.

Lucas waited and waited to be adopted. Wescott staff and volunteers couldn't understand it because he's such an awesome boy. It all makes perfect sense now.....he was waiting for the perfect place to call home. He's found his family and finally has his happy ending. He has kids to play with and gets to sleep in the bed with them at night. He couldn't be happier and it was worth the wait.

UPDATE ON BEBO, NOW NAMED CODY! - return to top

 
BEBO RIDING TO GET MORNING COFFEE!

Bebo is now officially "Cody".  We totally love him!  Cody is such a good, good boy.  He stays home during the work day with our pugs Tucker and Alfie and my mom's caregiver, so he is getting lots of attention and training. Cam told him to be a good boy since he had been returned twice.   Poor fellow!  How could anyone not love him?   He is extremely gentle and is a great companion. He will get much needed exercise and care! 

Every weekday morning I take our boys (pugs) to The Java Hut for my breakfast shake--rain or shine. Cody rides with us now, too!  Attached is a photo of Cody on the middle van seat.  My boys are in the front.  Aren't dogs the BEST!?   So glad we found a Wescott Rescue!   Sure wish we could help many others.
