Wescott Acres Pet Rescue is a small, non-profit, all volunteer rescue
operating from Wescott Acres Luxury Pet Resort. Our purpose
is to rescue stray, abandoned, unwanted, helpless and
homeless pets. Each pet that comes into our rescue is given
the highest quality care and adopted into a loving home to
be treated as a companion.
Wescott Acres Pet Rescue is committed to educating
the public on the importance of spaying and neutering. With
over 20,000 pets per year being euthanized in Columbia area
shelters, we strive to save as many pets as possible from
having to end up in these shelters and Animal Control
Facilities.
In
2008, Wescott saved and adopted out 326 pets. In 2009, that
number jumped to 396! Results like this from a small,
volunteer run rescue takes teamwork and lots of it! We
welcome new volunteers and encourage you to get involved in
our mission to save lives. We hold adoption events every
weekend. Volunteers are needed. Other opportunities are

during normal operating hours to meet the awesome pets we
have awaiting adoption. To ensure someone will have time to
show you our adoptable pets, it is best to have a rescue

Sunday, from 4-6PM, we have a volunteer at the resort to

To adopt a new friend from Wescott Acres Pet Rescue, you
must complete an application and be interviewed. We want to
ensure our pets are all adopted into secure, loving homes
where they will be valued companions and treated like family
members. References will be checked prior to all adoptions.
All pets are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped
prior to adoption. You may download an application below
then email it to a rescue volunteer listed below.
Our adoption fee for dogs is $125 which
includes spay/neuter surgery, age-appropriate vaccines and
a microchip. All dogs are kept current on heartworm
prevention and flea/tick prevention.
The cat/kitten adoption fee is $100. All
medical care has been provided, and they are feline
aids/leukemia negative.
